Established in 1926, the neighborhood of Parkdale includes almost 1,000 homes bounded on the west by White Rock Creek and Parkdale Lake, on the north by Military Parkway, on the east by Bisbee Drive and on the south by Scyene Road and the DART light rail GREEN line.

According to the Dallas Historical Society, the earliest main route from Dallas to East Texas ran along what is now Parkdale Dr., after crossing White Rock Creek at the present-day Haskell/Forney Road., junction.  After climbing out of the creek bottoms, teamsters would rest and refresh at W.W. Glover’s Well before heading out on the Scyene Road.
